Why We Built This Site
No single search covers every court serving Franklin County. The Circuit Clerk posts date-based Circuit and General Sessions PDFs, subscribers may use TNCIS for broader participating trial-court information, and the Clerk & Master separately maintains Chancery and probate material. City citations, Tennessee appeals, and federal cases have their own systems. This site explains those divisions without claiming custody of the records.
What You Will Find Here
- Record requests: where to seek court records, ordinary copies, and certified copies
- Case lookup guidance: how a docket search differs from the clerk's free date-based PDFs
- Calendar help: how to interpret the court schedule and verify a setting before relying on it
- Docket explanations: how Franklin County criminal court dockets and civil court dockets are organized
What We Cannot Do
As a private informational resource, this site is not connected with a Tennessee court, clerk, or government agency. Accordingly:
- We do not provide legal advice about an individual matter
- We cannot issue certified copies of orders, dockets, or filings
- We cannot alter, seal, remove, or correct an entry in a court system
- We cannot set, continue, reset, or confirm a hearing
- We cannot retrieve an official case file or docket for a visitor
- We cannot promise that a listed fee, setting, telephone number, or office detail has not changed
An official or certified court record must be supplied by the court or clerk that maintains it. This guide can identify that office, but it cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search tools that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its results, terms, and charges. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee for this site, which supports free access to the guide. We neither set the provider's price nor control the information it returns.
